BENNO (b. 1883 or 84);

Benno Buntman was the firstborn of Gershon and Sarah Buntmann. He was born in Koenigsberg. He emigrated to the United Kingdom and from there, likely to Cape Town, South Africa.

Benno m. Marie Ernestine (nee von Lossow) on Sept. 11, 1918. At times they lived in Kandelaars River, outside of Cape Town, and at times they lived in Cape Town. They had two sons and one daughter:

  • Anthony 14 Oct 1916 • Cape Town, Westkap, Südafrika. Anthony m. Kathleen O’Malley. He enlisted in the Military Service Branch of the Army, Second Australian Imperial Force B883: Army, 2nd Al F. Anthony tragically was killed in action on 04 May 1945, He was one of the 56 officers and men of the 2/4 Commandos who died at Tarakan. He was buried at the Labuan War Cemetery Malaysia (Sabah) 1. Kathleen Buntman d. 1982,
  • Errol  (31 Jul 1919 –1 968) m. Magda.
